TRIBUTES have been paid to former Barton councillor and mayor Stuart Dear who has lost his battle with cancer.Mr Dear served as Barton mayor from 1988 to 1989 and spent many years on the town council.He also served as the chairman of the twinning association – Barton is twinned with Feyzin in France – and met with dignitaries over the 10 years he was in the role.He was also head teacher at Scunthorpe's Rochdale Road Junior School during a 30-year career which saw him rising through...
