STEVE Turtle, the former chief photographer and press officer on the Scunthorpe steelworks, has died at the age of 85.Father-of-two Mr Turtle, who died in Hull Royal Infirmary on April 1, was born in Alkborough, the eldest of five children.After attending the former Scunthorpe Grammar School, he started work as a metallurgist at the United Steel company (now Tata Steel).Aged 18 years, he enrolled with the Royal Navy and trained as a photographer with the Fleet Air Arm.Mr Turtle later joined the...
